The latest poll shows that dissatisfaction with U.S. President Donald Trump has reached its highest level since the beginning of his second term in the White House.

According to the American news website The Hill, the latest Economist/YouGov poll, which surveyed 1,680 American citizens, found that 55% are dissatisfied with Trump’s leadership as President, while only 41% believe he is taking the right approach.

This level of dissatisfaction marks a significant increase compared to the poll conducted last week, reaching a new record high. In last week’s poll, 53% of respondents said they were unhappy with Trump's handling of his responsibilities.

It is worth noting that Trump began his second term with 49% approval and 43% disapproval.

Trump’s overall decline in popularity since taking office has largely been attributed to a decrease in support among Democrats and independents.

In a poll conducted in late January, Trump’s approval rating among Democrats stood at 12%. However, the latest figures show this has now dropped to just 3%.

This sharp decline in popularity is also evident among independents. At the start of Trump’s second term, 41% of independents expressed support for him, but that number has now fallen to 29%.

It should be noted that, unlike among Democrats and independents, Trump’s popularity within the Republican Party has not seen a significant decline.

The Hill added in its report that when Trump returned to power for a second term, 94% of Republicans expressed satisfaction with his performance. The latest poll shows this figure has only slightly decreased to 92%.
