Israel replaces air defense commander after failure against Iranian missiles
The Israeli military announced that the commander of its air defense unit has been changed.
According to Israel Hayom, this change comes after the publication last night of an investigation into how Iranian missiles successfully penetrated Israel’s defenses.
According to the Israeli military’s statement, a new commander has been appointed to lead the air defense division of the Israeli Air Force, replacing the previous commander who had held the position for the past four years.
The handover ceremony was held at the Air Defense College under the supervision of the commander of the Israeli Air Force.
During the ceremony, the outgoing air defense commander admitted responsibility for the failures, stating: “I take full responsibility for all the events and failures we have experienced.”
In recent days, following the 12-day war, Israeli experts and media outlets have acknowledged the failure of the regime’s air defense systems in the face of Iranian missiles.
Recently, the American newspaper Wall Street Journal published a report on Iran’s missile capabilities during the 12-day conflict.
The report stated that Iran had identified weaknesses in Israel’s multi-layered air defense and was able to double the effectiveness of its missiles.
