While the trial session of Benjamin Netanyahu over corruption cases had begun this morning (Wednesday), it was halted following security developments.

According to Sama News Agency, Benjamin Netanyahu’s military advisor arrived at the courtroom and requested a temporary suspension of the session in order to brief Netanyahu on urgent security matters.

According to this report, after the military advisor arrived at the court and handed Netanyahu a confidential envelope, the Israeli Prime Minister immediately left the session.

Media sources say this is the first time Netanyahu’s military advisor has personally attended a court session.

Over the past few months, Netanyahu had been appearing in court twice a week to answer charges of financial corruption and abuse of power. However, the court proceedings had been suspended during the recent criminal aggression against Iran, which began on June 13 and lasted for 12 days.

Benjamin Netanyahu is facing three separate cases on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of public trust. He is accused of receiving over $200,000 worth of gifts from businessmen and granting telecommunications companies benefits worth hundreds of millions of dollars in exchange for favorable media coverage.

The only person with the legal authority to halt the trial proceedings is Gali Baharav-Miara, the Attorney General of Israel, and the likelihood of her taking such action is almost zero.
