Netanyahu’s coalition on the verge of collapse

Political sources in the Zionist regime have announced that the ultra-Orthodox Shas party has decided to withdraw from the ruling coalition within the next 24 hours. If this decision materializes, the number of seats in Netanyahu’s cabinet will drop to 50, severely weakening the coalition.

Zionist media have reported that Shas, one of the main religious parties in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition, is on the verge of exiting the government.

Israel’s Channel 12, citing a senior source within Shas, reported that the final decision to withdraw from the coalition will be executed on Thursday of this week. At the same time, political sources within the Zionist entity have confirmed that this move may take place within the next 24 hours.

Yishai Cohen, a journalist close to Israel’s Haredi community, also stated that the Council of Torah Sages — the highest authority governing the Shas party — is expected to convene on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss the issue of the military draft law (mandatory conscription for Haredim). Following this, the council is expected to issue directives for Shas to withdraw from Netanyahu’s coalition this week.

The Haredi religious parties’ threats to leave the government have been repeated several times before. On June 4, the opposition party Yesh Atid submitted a request for a vote on dissolving the Knesset, scheduled for June 11.

Meanwhile, Yair Golan, leader of the so-called Israeli Democrats, stated that the war on Gaza has lost its justification and has turned into a political maneuver aimed at preserving Netanyahu’s cabinet, which is under pursuit by the International Criminal Court.

Opposition parties in the Zionist regime have accused Prime Minister Netanyahu of seeking to pass a law granting military exemption for the Haredim at the demand of the Shas and United Torah Judaism parties — both coalition members — in order to maintain the fragile stability of his government and prevent its collapse.
