Following the blatant military aggression by the criminal regime of the United States against the peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran—a clear violation of international law—the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched a powerful and destructive missile operation, Operation Basharat al-Fath, targeting the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Al-Udeid, the largest U.S. base in the region and the central command hub for U.S. air operations in the Middle East, was struck by Iranian missiles.

Iran’s missile response to the latest U.S. aggression prompted several regional countries to close their airspace. In addition to Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq also announced the closure of their airspace until further notice.

Reuters reported that EgyptAir, in an official statement, has suspended all flights to Gulf countries until further notice. Kuwait Airways also announced a similar suspension of its operations.

Oman Air suspends regional flights

Amid escalating regional tensions, Oman Air temporarily suspended flights to and from Manama, Dubai, Kuwait, and Doha. The airline noted: “Other flights across our network may experience delays due to longer routes.”

Israeli media: Iran’s response exceeded our expectations

Israeli media reacted to Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes on the U.S., including the targeting of its largest regional base in Qatar, by stating: “Iran’s response was broader than we had imagined.”

Trump holds emergency meeting at the White House

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump convened an emergency meeting at the White House Situation Room with Acting Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Keane.

The New York Times: Trump has no intention to retaliate

The New York Times reported that Trump has no intention of responding to Iran’s retaliatory missile strike on Al-Udeid Air Base, which houses U.S. troops and military equipment in Qatar.
