ElBaradei warns of regional devastation from war on Iran

On Sunday, ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter page: "The U.S. and Israel, which possess thousands of nuclear weapons, have launched a criminal war against Iran. This war violates the UN Charter and all principles of international law. International inspectors have found no evidence or indication of a military nuclear program in Iran."

He added: "This war is reminiscent of the catastrophic war on Iraq—deceptive, and in contradiction with reports by international inspectors confirming the absence of any weapons of mass destruction."

The former IAEA chief further warned: "This war will be devastating for the region and all its people. Just like the Iraq war and the ongoing war in Gaza, the countries in the region will merely stand by and watch. O God, I have spoken…"
