Gaza war death toll surpasses 54,000

In a statement, the ministry reported that in the past 24 hours, at least 79 people were martyred and 163 others injured and transferred to hospitals in the Gaza Strip due to the Zionist occupiers’ attacks.

According to the Palestinian news agency Shehab, the ministry also stated that, with the latest figures, the total number of martyrs in the war since October 7, 2023, has reached 54,056, while the number of injured has risen to 123,129.

These figures do not include the martyrs and injured in hospitals in northern Gaza, an area where access to hospitals and relief efforts is either impossible or extremely difficult due to the severe siege and destruction of infrastructure.

An unknown number of martyrs’ bodies remain under rubble and in the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them due to ongoing attacks and a lack of resources.

According to official statistics, nearly 14,000 people remain missing and trapped under rubble in the Gaza Strip.

Since March 18, when the occupying regime violated the ceasefire and resumed attacks on Gaza, the death toll in Gaza has reached 3,901 martyrs, with 11,088 people injured.
