Assassination of an honorable judge in Shiraz / Terrorists have fled

Judiciary Media Center - Seyed Sadrollah Rajaei Nasab stated: This morning, two individuals attacked and assassinated Judge Ehsan Bagheri, head of Branch 102 of Criminal Court 2 in Shiraz, while he was on his way to work, resulting in his martyrdom. 

The Chief Justice of Fars Province noted that the assassination took place with a cold weapon during the judge’s commute to work.

The incident is under investigation, with immediate involvement of provincial security and intelligence officials, as well as a special homicide prosecutor from the Shiraz Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the Judiciary Media Center, following the order of the Chief Justice of Iran, special and urgent investigations have been launched to identify and apprehend the terrorists.

Judge Ehsan Bagheri, 38 years old, was born in Mamasani County and had over 12 years of judicial experience. 

He served as a judicial trainee from March 10, 2012, to March 17, 2013. From March 2013 to October 2017, he worked as an assistant prosecutor in the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office of Dena County in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. 

From November 2017 to May 2024, he served as an investigating judge in the Shiraz Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, later becoming the head of Branch 102 of Criminal Court 2 in Shiraz, until his assassination on the morning of May 26, 2025.
