The Foreign Minister, emphasizing that Iran has already responded to unreasonable and unusual demands, stated: Enrichment will not stop, with or without an agreement.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister, on Wednesday, May 21, told reporters in response to statements by U.S. officials regarding Iran’s enrichment activities and Iran’s red lines in indirect negotiations with the U.S.: “We have previously responded to unreasonable and unusual demands; these demands are not helpful.”

He emphasized: “Our position is completely clear; enrichment will not stop, with or without an agreement.”

Araghchi further stated: “If the other parties are interested in greater transparency regarding enrichment, we are ready, and in return for dialogue, they should lift the unjust sanctions based on claims about our nuclear program.”

The Foreign Minister also said: “If they demand more and seek to deprive us of our rights, there is no room for acceptance.”

Regarding the next round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S., Araghchi noted: “We are considering whether to participate in the next round of talks or not; we will counter excessive demands and rhetoric at the negotiating table, while we have never abandoned diplomacy. We are still evaluating whether negotiations at that time and place can be constructive or not.”
