Israeli military opposes expansion of war in Gaza

The Zionist newspaper Haaretz, citing informed sources, reported that a significant number of Israeli army officers and soldiers have declared they will refuse to participate in subsequent stages of operations if the military campaign in Gaza expands.
According to the report, concerns over rising casualties and threats to the lives of Zionist prisoners are among the primary reasons for some soldiers’ opposition to continued battlefield involvement.
Haaretz further noted that Israeli security officials, highlighting the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, have stated that allowing humanitarian aid into the region will be unavoidable in the coming weeks.
Quoting these officials, the outlet wrote, “Estimates indicate that the existing humanitarian aid reserves in Gaza will suffice for only the next three weeks, and without immediate action, a humanitarian disaster is imminent.”
Haaretz added, “In addition, security analyses have warned of heightened risks to hostages (Zionist prisoners in Gaza) and the potential for increased military casualties if operations escalate.”
