Putin announces 3-day ceasefire

The Russian President announced a ceasefire to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory Day and called on Ukraine to join it.

Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, said on Monday, April 28, that Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a ceasefire for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
According to Peskov, the ceasefire will be in effect from May 8 to May 11.
Peskov emphasized that the Ukrainian side must join the ceasefire during the Victory Day celebrations.
The Kremlin spokesperson added, “We are ready for constructive cooperation with international partners to resolve the Ukraine crisis.”
The Russian President had previously announced a temporary ceasefire for the Easter holiday regarding the Ukraine war, which took effect on Saturday, April 19, and was accepted by Ukraine.
