French police arrest pro-Palestinian journalist

On Tuesday, April 22, French police detained Shahin Hazami, a journalist and pro-Palestinian activist, at his home in front of his wife and their one- and three-year-old children.
According to Press TV, French police officers broke into Hazami’s home early Tuesday morning without warning, entering with loud shouts, terrifying his family. Officers arrested and handcuffed Hazami in front of his frightened children. His home was searched without any stated reason.
Close associates say the arrest is part of escalating pressure and intimidation against Hazami due to his public statements and activities supporting Palestinians. They believe authorities are attempting to silence him by burdening him with legal proceedings.
Hazami was among the journalists covering the arrest of Mahdieh Esfandiari, an Iranian academic residing in France.
