Martyrdom of a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli prisons
According to the Palestinian news agency "Ma'a", the Palestinian Prisoners' Association and Prisoners' Club announced that "Mus'ab Hassan Adili", a 20-year-old Palestinian prisoner from the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, was martyred last night (Wednesday) in the Israeli Soroka Hospital.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Association and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated in a joint statement that martyr Adili had been arrested by the Israeli military a long time ago and sentenced to one year and one month in prison, and was scheduled to be released three days later.
The statement, noting that martyr Adili was added to the list of martyrs of the Palestinian prisoners' movement who were martyred as a result of the unprecedented organized crimes in the prisons of the occupying regime since the beginning of the Zionist regime's genocidal war against the people of Gaza, added: "With Adili's martyrdom, the number of martyrs of prisoners and Palestinians detained by the Zionist regime since the beginning of the genocidal war in Gaza has increased to 64."
The aforementioned statement considered this stage in the history of the prisoners' movement and the Palestinian people as the bloodiest stage and added: "Given Israel's continuous crimes, this regime is concealing the identity of a number of Palestinian prisoners who were martyred in the prisons of the Zionist regime, and so far the identities of at least 40 of these martyrs, who are from Gaza, have been determined."
The Palestinian Prisoners Club announced the number of Palestinian prisoners who have been martyred in Israeli prisons since 1967 and whose identities have been determined as 301, adding: At the same time, the number of Palestinian martyred prisoners whose bodies the Israeli regime has refused to hand over is 73, 62 of whom were martyred since the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza.
In response to this incident, the Hamas movement issued a statement emphasizing that the martyrdom of prisoner Mus'ab Hassan Adili occurred while he had been in captivity since March 22, 2024 and had been sentenced to one year and one month in prison.
The Hamas statement added: This incident emphasizes the continuation of the vengeful and torturous policies of the Israeli regime and its fascist prison organization against prisoners; It also indicates the systematic deprivation of Palestinian prisoners of their most basic human rights, in light of the continuing policy of medical negligence, which in reality means the "slow murder" of prisoners inside their cells.
Hamas, while offering condolences for the martyrdom of Mus'ab Adili, emphasized: This crime, which occurred on the eve of Palestinian Prisoner's Day and only three days before his imminent release, indicates the continuation of the crimes of the Israeli occupation regime against prisoners.
