Trump's popularity continues to decline

The poll conducted by "The Economist" newspaper and the "YouGov" institute shows that, concurrent with the increase in Trump's new global trade policies, the popularity of the U.S. president is on the decline.
According to this poll, more than half of the participants (51 percent) stated that they do not approve of Trump's job performance, while 43 percent approved of his actions.
The results of a similar poll by The Economist and the YouGov institute, conducted two weeks ago, showed Trump with 48 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval, which, compared to the current poll conducted from April 4 to 8, indicates a two percent decrease in his popularity.
American media, referring to the extensive tariffs imposed by Trump on various countries in the past two weeks, have cited one of the consequences of the U.S. president's trade policy as the reason for this decline in popularity.
However, Trump announced last weekend that while maintaining a base tariff of 10 percent on all imported goods to the United States, other extensive tariffs on countries that cooperate with his administration for negotiations would be suspended for 90 days. But the tariffs against China remain in place and have so far reached 145 percent. Beijing, in retaliation to this action by the Washington government, has emphasized that it is not afraid of America's trade threats and has so far imposed a 125 percent tax on goods imported from the United States.
