Democrats campaign to remove Elon Musk from the US government

Axios wrote: The campaign relies on a law according to which special government employees such as Musk cannot serve more than 130 days.
Seventy-seven Democrats in the US House of Representatives sent a letter to Trump, urging him to immediately issue a public statement that Musk will resign by the announced date and relinquish all his decision-making authority.
They wrote in the letter that Musk cannot return as a special government employee for a period of one year unless he separates from his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.
Greg Casar, the Democratic leader of the House of Representatives, who is leading the letter, told Axios that the party’s strategy is to increase pressure on the Republican Party to get what it wants.
He stressed that Democrats “have the political and legal tools to do what they want” and “have the full force of public pressure.”
Axios wrote that Trump’s approach to governance has worried many Democrats. They argue that the Trump administration has violated not only executive and accountability limits on the federal government but also ethical principles in some areas.
News outlets previously revealed a dispute between Elon Musk and one of President Trump’s top advisers over new tariffs he has imposed on dozens of countries.
In this regard, the news website Business Insider confirmed that although Elon Musk is one of Trump's biggest supporters, he is not in favor of the president's imposition of tariffs because it may weaken Tesla's market in China.
