Pilots' rebellion, the new crisis in the Israeli Army

According to a Zionist newspaper, the Israeli army has launched an investigation into the identities of the soldiers who signed a protest petition calling for an end to the war and greater efforts to return Israeli prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
According to the report, the soldiers who signed the petition will no longer be allowed to continue serving in the Air Force reserve unit.
Based on the report, Israeli sources announced that the commander of the Israeli Air Force considered signing the petition a "betrayal of personal trust" for himself and this military institution.
Reports also indicate that the air force commanders are concerned that more serving soldiers will join the protest.
The sources said that the Israeli army has decided not to use the soldiers who signed the petition to carry out any military missions, as they have clearly declared their distrust of the army.
According to the Ma'ariv newspaper, the army commanders were concerned about the publication of the petition even before it was published, but the warnings could not prevent its publication.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth also reported, quoting the deputy speaker of the Israeli parliament, that the opposition of the air force reserve personnel to the cabinet's decisions is a form of "rebellion" against the regime.
He also called for the dismissal of the protesting soldiers by the Israeli army chief of staff.
Israeli media reported on Wednesday that hundreds of air force reserve personnel have signed a petition calling for an end to the war on Gaza. Accordingly, the forces have said that the continuation of the war is for political interests, not security purposes.
The petition warns of the risk of depletion of the reserves and other military personnel and the possibility of increased casualties among Israeli prisoners, civilians, and military personnel.
In this regard, the Zionist newspaper "Haaretz" wrote that Major General Tomer Bar, commander of the Israeli Air Force, held a meeting with the air force reserves two days ago and threatened that they would be dismissed from service if they signed a protest petition.
Earlier, dozens of Israeli air force pilots had threatened to quit their jobs if the Israeli prisoners were not returned from the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli pilots demanded the return of the Israeli prisoners even at the cost of stopping the war.
The Israeli pilots announced that the continuation of the war is only in line with personal and limited political interests and does not contribute to the security of the Israeli regime.
According to them, the continuation of the war will only take the lives of more civilians and military personnel and will cause the depletion of the reserve forces.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli army chief of staff and the commander of the air force have decided to expel the reservists who signed a petition calling for an end to the war in Gaza and the return of the Israeli prisoners.
In response to the protest petition by the Israeli air force reservists, Yair Golan, leader of the so-called "Democrats" party, announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuses to take responsibility for the security situation in the regime and the war to rescue the Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
He also emphasized that Netanyahu also refuses to use all forces to defend the Israeli regime.
Golan said that the signatories of the protest petition against the war in Gaza are actually supporters and protectors of the Israeli regime, and not people who have refused military service.
In contrast, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz rejected the petition, saying: "I do not accept this petition and the attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the just war that the army is waging in Gaza to return the prisoners and defeat Hamas."
He added: "I am confident that the IDF Chief of Staff has taken the necessary action in dealing with these soldiers."
Netanyahu's office also issued a statement stating that it supports the decision of the Minister of Defense and the IDF Chief of Staff, because the signatories of the petition are seeking to overthrow the cabinet and are not considered representatives of the military or the general "Israeli people.
