Indonesia welcomes children and wounded from Gaza
Indonesia's president has announced his readiness to temporarily host wounded and orphaned children from the Gaza war, saying his country will accept 1,000 Palestinians as a first step.

According to AFP, Prabowo Subianto announced on Wednesday, ahead of his trip to West Asian countries including the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan, that he is ready to temporarily shelter Palestinians affected by the Gaza war.
He added: "We are ready to send planes to transport them. Our estimate is that 1,000 people will be transferred in the first wave."
Prabowo also stressed that orphaned children and wounded victims will be a priority.
According to reports, the Indonesian president has ordered his foreign minister to discuss with Palestinian authorities and other regional parties how to transfer these people.
He noted that these people will remain in Indonesia until they recover and it is safe for them to return.
