Pentagon new scandal: Defense Secretary's wife attends sensitive foreign meetings

The Wall Street Journal reported that Pete Hegseth took his wife to two meetings with foreign military officials, and sources present at the meetings confirmed her presence.
According to the report, one of the meetings was held at the Pentagon on March 6, which was attended by British Defense Secretary John Haley. The meeting discussed the US decision to stop sharing military information with Ukraine.
Defense officials told the Wall Street Journal that only people with security clearance are usually present at the Defense Secretary's meetings because the topics discussed are "highly sensitive in nature."
The second meeting, according to the report, was held in February at NATO headquarters in Brussels, where officials from other countries were present to discuss support for Ukraine. According to the report, some of the foreign attendees at these meetings did not know Hegseth's wife.
According to the American magazine "Newsweek", this is while Trump administration officials have recently come under great pressure for their inability to protect classified information. It was recently reported that they used the encrypted application "Signal" to coordinate attacks on Yemeni army positions, while a journalist was present in that group.
"Jeffrey Goldberg", editor of the Atlantic magazine, announced that he was in a group on the Signal messenger, a group where senior US government officials were present and shared plans for US airstrikes against Ansarullah in Yemen. The way these military discussions were handled at the highest levels of the US government has raised serious security concerns in the United States.
Hegseth, whose wife has now been implicated in secret meetings, has denied any military intelligence sharing in the Signal group, calling Goldberg “one of the lowest of journalists.”
The backlash over the Signal cables has led to calls for Hegseth to resign, but Trump administration officials have continued to defend him. Trump said this week he would investigate the matter and has assigned his national security adviser, Mike Waltz, to lead the investigation.
