More than 6,000 killed in 100 days of al-Julani's rule in Syria

100 days have passed since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime and the dissolution of the Syrian army and security apparatus and the rise to power of the Tahrir al-Sham rebels under the leadership of Abu Muhammad al-Julani. The dissolution of the army and security apparatus created a vacuum in various provinces of the country, and the rebels who had taken over the pillars of the system faced major and dangerous security and economic challenges.
During this period, the scope of chaos, bloody internal conflicts, revenge, and seizure of public and private property increased.
The military forces that took control of the country faced major challenges, especially in the security and economic fields.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, from December 8 to December 18 (today), 6,316 people were killed in the bloody clashes in Syria, including 4,711 civilians, including 4,172 men, 345 women and 194 children. These people were killed for various reasons in different parts of Syria.
According to the report, from December 8 to the end of 2024, 2,354 people, including 1,894 civilians, including 1,839 men, 21 women and 34 children, were killed, along with 460 soldiers and militiamen.
In January 2025, 1,122 people, including 679 civilians, including 480 men, 146 women and 53 children, were killed, along with 443 soldiers or militiamen.
In February 2025, 603 people, including 435 civilians including 347 men, 46 women and 43 children, along with 168 soldiers and militiamen, were killed.
In the period from March to the 16th of this month, 2,237 people, including 1,703 civilians including 1,506 men, 132 women and 65 children, along with 534 soldiers or militiamen, were killed.
According to the report, 1,805 people have been summarily executed in Syria during this period, executed on various charges and grounds, including sectarian identity and affiliation with the former regime. The peak of these summaries dates back to March and the Syrian coastal region, when Syrian Alawites were massacred.
