Zionist regime obstructs humanitarian aid to Gaza
Salama Marouf, head of the Palestinian government's information office in the Gaza Strip, while referring to the critical situation in Gaza and the urgent needs of the region, stressed that current measures to provide shelter and humanitarian aid are not enough and that the international community must put more pressure on the Zionist regime.
Marouf said on Friday: "This morning, only 12 prefabricated houses arrived in Gaza, which are intended for the use of international institutions and not for housing people; this number is symbolic compared to the real needs of Gaza and has little impact on improving the situation."
He stated that Gaza needs at least 60,000 mobile homes and 200,000 tents to provide temporary shelter for hundreds of thousands of families who have lost their homes, and added: "So far, less than half of the tent needs have been met and no mobile homes have been delivered to accommodate the people."
Maroof announced that the Zionist regime continues to delay fulfilling its humanitarian obligations and is shirking its responsibilities towards the humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
The head of the Palestinian government's information office in the Gaza Strip continued to state: "Israel is deliberately disrupting the arrival of essential aid and is exploiting the suffering of the people of Gaza."
Maroof also called for an urgent international conference to be held for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Salama Maroof described Gaza as a disaster-stricken area in terms of humanity, livelihoods and services, and called for an immediate response to the people's requests for help.
