Baghaei: Saudi Arabia's mediation between Iran and the US is speculation

Regarding the presence of our country's officials in the funeral ceremony of the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Baghaei said: We will participate in the funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah at a high level.
He also noted: We expressed our positions regarding the flight of the Iranian plane to Beirut; good consultations were held between Araghchi and his Lebanese counterpart, and it was emphasized that the parties should make the best decision based on mutual interests and not allow third parties that are not in the best interests of the two nations and the region to interfere.
The spokesman for the diplomatic service added: We have a friendly relationship with Lebanon and we prefer not to talk about reciprocal measures and resolve the issue with good relations between us; the reasons put forward for stopping the flights are not convincing; these flights are part of the good and long-standing relationship between the two countries and are important; we hope that the interests and welfare of Lebanon and both countries will be taken into account in the final decision on this issue.
Referring to speculations about Saudi mediation between Iran and the US, the spokesman for the diplomatic service said: "This is speculation and we also heard this from the media."
Referring to what has been called the US condition for nuclear negotiations, he reminded: "These things are said, but the important thing is that Iran has seriously considered its rights and obligations over the past three decades; everything that has been done as part of Iran's peaceful nuclear program has been based on the rights contained in the NPT."
In response to Mizan's question about the pressure being exerted on South Africa and other countries participating in the lawsuit against the Zionist regime at the International Court of Justice and the rumors that large sums of money were offered to South Africa to withdraw the lawsuit, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said: "There is no doubt that from the beginning of the lawsuit, the United States and the Zionist regime made great efforts to disrupt the processing of this lawsuit at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, and this approach was criticized by most countries and the entire international community, because this behavior is tantamount to complicity in the most heinous international crimes."
He stated that there is no doubt that the pressures in this regard are still ongoing, and added: "But on the other hand, South Africa and other countries that took this step were based on a sense of responsibility, both under international law and based on a human duty and responsibility; I do not think that these pressures will cause these countries to abandon their beliefs and principles."
In another part, regarding the threat of the Israeli Prime Minister against Iran, Baghaei said: In an ideal world with the rule of law, these threats are a violation of international law and the UN Charter, and their speaker should be held accountable at the international level.
In response to a question about whether the Qatari Emir's visit to Iran will be to mediate between Iran and the US, Baghaei said: No, the Qatari Emir's visit will not be to mediate between Iran and the US.
In another part about Iran's absence from the Munich Security Conference, Baghaei said: Araghchi participated in the Oman meeting at the same time as the Munich Conference; Iran's absence from such meetings deprives the international community of the presence of an important player like Iran; in addition, the Munich meeting focuses on the differences between Europe and the US, and we did not lose much from our absence.
