Eslami: We have no plans to have nuclear weapons

Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, said on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, in response to Mizan News Agency about Iran’s plan to develop heavy water production: “We are producing in this field and we also have a plan to develop it.”
He continued: “We have stable export markets and are taking advantage of market opportunities; given the position that our heavy water products and its derivatives currently have, this is a very promising matter and we are pursuing it.”
In another part, in response to US President Donald Trump’s claims last night, Eslami said: Trump emphasized that Iran should not have nuclear weapons; It is clear that Iran does not and will not have a plan to have nuclear weapons; this approach is clear; Iran's peaceful nuclear program is being implemented within the framework of safeguards and NPT regulations.
Regarding the possible visit of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to Iran, Eslami also said that this issue is part of routine discussions.
