Elon Musk's access to sensitive US Treasury information

According to the news agency, two informed sources who asked not to be named said that the US Department of Government Efficiency, managed by American billionaire Musk, has gained access to sensitive Treasury data, including the payment systems of Social Security and Medicare customers.
It is said that although the newly established Department of Government Efficiency is tasked with finding ways to lay off federal employees, reduce federal programs and regulations, this institution appointed by Donald Trump also has access to important taxpayer data.
The Associated Press noted that the New York Times was the first media outlet to report the news of the new department's access to the federal payment system.
Senator Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, expressed concern in a letter to Trump Treasury Secretary Scott Besant on Friday that officials associated with Musk may be attempting to access these payment systems to illegally withhold payments.
“These payment systems are not easy to break, and any politically motivated interference with them would cause serious harm to our country and our economy,” he explained.
News of Musk’s access to sensitive Treasury information comes after David Lebrik, acting deputy treasury secretary, resigned from his position after more than 30 years of service. Lebrik resigned after Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency requested access to sensitive Treasury information, according to a report by the Washington Post.
