Trump: Illegal immigrants will be sent to Guantanamo

US President Donald Trump announced that he would sign an executive order directing the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security to prepare a 30,000-person detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
“Today, I will also sign an executive order directing the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to prepare a 30,000-person facility at Guantanamo Bay,” Trump explained.
“Most people don’t know anything about this. At Guantanamo, we have 30,000 beds in a complex to hold more detainees… Illegal immigrants are the most dangerous people and they are a threat to the American people.”
Guantanamo Bay, located on a remote island in Cuba, was previously known as a prison for detaining people the United States calls “terrorism suspects.”
Earlier, the White House announced the launch of a massive campaign to deport illegal immigrants.
White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt also announced that the Trump administration plans to ask Congress for additional funding for programs to detain and deport illegal immigrants.
