Araqchi: A forceful response will be given to any attack on Iran's nuclear facilities

In an exclusive interview with Sky News at the Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi noted that although he is ready to listen to Trump’s statements indirectly, it will take a lot more time to persuade Iran to begin talks with the US in order to reach a new agreement, considering the past.
Araqchi added: “The situation is different and much more difficult than last time; a lot of work needs to be done by the other side to buy our trust; we have heard nothing but good words and it is clear that this is not enough.”
"Hamas and Hezbollah have been damaged, but at the same time they are rebuilding themselves, because as I said, this is a school of thought, this is an ideal that will always survive," the foreign minister added in reference to the state of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance.
"I want to bring to your attention that we have a lot more mistrust now than we did in the past, but I do not rule out the possibility of a new agreement or a new round of negotiations," he said.
Araghchi clarified: “There is now much more distrust between us and we must first overcome this distrust. There must be enough trust for Iran to enter negotiations again and I think we are still a little far from that point, as I said we are waiting to hear from him. Yes, of course, an agreement is good, but what agreement?”
He noted: Diplomacy is based on hope, we never lose hope for any diplomatic effort. We have had this experience in the past and were able to resolve this difficult issue through diplomacy and this experience can be repeated, but again I must say that the situation is different and much more difficult than the previous round, a lot of work must be done by the other side to gain our trust.
In response to the question, if Trump shares the right approach with you respectfully, will you talk to him? He said: “After that, we'll decide. We will make a decision on this, as I previously stated. I'm not saying that we will disregard everything he says; of course, we will think about and talk about what he says. We have demonstrated that we have consistently made rational choices.”
Araqchi continued, referring to the Zionist regime’s threats against Iran, saying: This is not a new threat and they know that this is not a real threat, because they know our capabilities to respond and we have made it clear that any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities will be met with an immediate and decisive response. But I do not think they will take such a crazy action. This action will overshadow the entire region and will be catastrophic. I think this is not a real threat.
“Well, I think this is a project that many have tried in the past, but they all failed. Since Palestine cannot be removed from the region's map and Palestinians cannot be driven out, I propose an alternative. Try driving out the Israelis and sending them to Greenland instead of the Palestinians so they can accomplish two goals at once. Address the Israeli issue as well as the Greenland issue,” the Foreign Minister said in response to Trump's proposal to clear Gaza.
