Americans' negative view of Biden's presidency

Biden is leaving the White House with polls showing his approval rating has plummeted compared to when he took office.
According to a poll conducted by CBS News in collaboration with YouGov, only 37 percent of Americans approve of Biden's presidency over the past four years.
CBS noted that four years ago, most Americans were optimistic about Biden's presidency, and his assessments were accompanied by optimistic predictions, which was partly due to his control of the Covid-19 disease during the pandemic. According to a chart published by the network on its news website, Biden had an approval rating of 61 percent in February 2021, nearly a month after his administration took office. This figure reached 62% in March of that year.
But shortly after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the chaotic US withdrawal from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021 reduced Biden's popularity to 50%, and then never returned to its previous level due to inflation. According to the published chart, Biden's popularity rate in January 2022 was announced as 44%.
The media outlet considered the main reason for Americans' dissatisfaction with Biden to be his poor economic performance and emphasized that inflation, as the main concern of the people of this country, is a key issue that is the root of Biden's decline in popularity.
However, many Americans questioned his mental and physical capabilities when he announced his re-nomination last year. These uncertainties grew, particularly following his dismal showing against Donald Trump in the June 2024 debate. The majority of Americans at the time believed he shouldn't run for president in 2024.
Many Democratic supporters believed that Biden's decision to withdraw from the race in July was too late. More than half of Democrats now believe that Kamala Harris, Biden's running mate, would have won the presidency if he had withdrawn earlier.
However, some also believe that the president's early withdrawal from the race would not have had a significant impact on his running mate's victory, citing Harris's approval rating, which is not much different from Biden's. According to polls, Harris, who is leaving the White House, currently has an approval rating of 43 percent, only slightly higher than Biden's.
