Optimal productivity in Iran’s industry and mining sector
In an interview with Mizan, Mehrdad Shirazi stated: “Achieving optimal productivity in Iran’s industry and mining sector—which are among the main pillars of the national economy—requires a paradigm shift from traditional approaches to knowledge- and technology-based strategies. This not only helps increase production, but also ensures the resilience of these sectors against economic fluctuations and sanctions. Productivity, defined as the ratio of output to input, in Iran’s complex industrial and mining environments demands a detailed analysis of various components, including capital, labor, energy, raw materials, and management processes.”
He added: “Total factor productivity in Iran’s economy—especially in traditional sectors—has consistently remained below its true potential. To move toward optimal productivity, a strategic tri-dimensional framework (technology, human resources, and governance) must be developed and implemented.”
