U.S. national security document symbolizes Trump’s failures
Nasir Qandil stated in an interview with Mizan: “Some believe that drafting a new U.S. National Security document and presenting it widely in the international arena signals Trump’s determination to restore the country’s power and greatness. In reality, however, this document should be regarded as a reflection and symbol of America’s failures in various foreign policy projects. These failures have been evident during the Ukraine war and in Washington’s (Trump administration) trade war against China. Therefore, drafting this document stems from weakness rather than strength.”
The former Lebanese parliamentarian added: “What is embedded in the 2026 U.S. National Security document are multiple failures in cases where the U.S. previously claimed dominance and victory, but which have now become symbols of its defeat.”
