Abdollah Feyzollahzadeh discusses the role of video games in children’s growth and learning
In an interview with Mizan, Abdollah Feyzollahzadeh stated: "In today’s world, where technology has become an inseparable part of life, denying the role of video games in children’s learning and development means falling behind global transformations. Video games are no longer just a means of entertainment; they are simulated environments in which children can practice vital 21st-century skills without the risks of the real world. We are transitioning from a traditional educational model based on information transfer to a model that emphasizes interaction, experimentation, and problem-solving in dynamic environments—of which video games are a clear example."
The CEO of Yasan Academy added: "Many parents and educators still categorize video games as ‘harmful entertainment’ or a ‘waste of time.’ This perspective needs to be reconsidered, because the interactive nature and immediate feedback of this medium have turned it into a powerful educational tool that is not comparable to traditional models."
This video game expert further noted: "Skill development through video games is a necessity, provided that the process is goal-oriented and supervised by parents and educators. The goal is not to completely replace other activities with gaming, but to make smart use of a tool that offers the greatest motivation for learning. In an era where ‘digital literacy’ is no longer an advantage but a prerequisite for survival, video games function as ‘simulated academies.’ By selecting appropriate games and maintaining controlled scheduling, we can harness the engaging nature of this technology and raise a generation that is not merely a consumer of technology, but also its creator and controller—one that fully develops its cognitive talents in the digital world. This educational paradigm shift is not a threat, but a golden opportunity to cultivate the citizens of the future."
