25,000 Ukrainian refugees face possible deportation from Israel
Ignoring requests from human rights organizations, the Zionist regime intends not to extend the protective status granted to Ukrainian refugees.
According to Haaretz, tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees are facing deportation from the occupied territories by the end of the current month.
Based on the report, the validity of the work and residency permits of Ukrainian refugees in the occupied territories will expire at the end of December, and if they are not renewed, 25,000 people will be at risk of deportation.
The threat of their mass deportation is due to the prolonged delay by Zionist authorities in deciding whether to extend the protective status that had been granted to them.
Various human rights organizations and institutions have expressed concern over the Zionist regime’s decision not to renew the protective status of Ukrainian refugees.
These organizations have also warned about the refugees’ critical situation on the eve of the holiday season and the onset of winter cold.
Ukrainian refugees in the occupied territories are already living in uncertain conditions, especially in terms of employment. They have been in the occupied territories since 2020.
Israel’s Channel 9 reported that the Zionist regime is concerned that a one-year extension of the protective status for Ukrainian refugees could later lead to attempts to apply for permanent residency based on the interests of their children.
