The BBC and Britain's hidden role in the Gaza war

Research by the UK Declassified Institute shows that the BBC has published little information about British military aid to the Zionist regime in the past 15 months and has in many cases ignored important military, intelligence and political cooperation between London and Tel Aviv.
According to the report, only four times in the past 15 months have there been any mention of British Air Force reconnaissance flights over Gaza, while hundreds of air missions have been carried out to collect information and assist the Israeli regime in its attacks on Gaza.
Also, meetings between senior Israeli military officials and their British counterparts in London, including the meeting of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army with officials from the British Ministry of Defense, were not covered by the BBC.
This media silence comes at a time when published documents show that security agreements between the UK and the Israeli regime, including the “Strategic Cooperation Roadmap” signed in 2023, underpin this military and intelligence cooperation.
Critics say that the BBC, as a public media outlet, should report on these matters and inform the public about the details of the British government’s cooperation with the Zionist regime.
"This is a national scandal. The BBC has completely failed to report on the British military and political support for the Gaza war," said Desmond Friedman, a professor of media and communications at Goldsmiths University in London.
He added: "Not only has the media outlet failed to report what happened, it has also deliberately omitted important information. This shows that the BBC can no longer be considered an independent public service broadcaster."
The BBC responded to these criticisms by claiming that it had provided numerous reports on the Gaza war and had covered the crisis impartially. However, investigations have shown that of the more than 1,000 articles published on its website during the period in question, there was no information about British military and intelligence cooperation with Israel.
