Israeli media admit: Iran has reached deep into our most sensitive military bases
Arrest of a 21-year-old soldier named Rafael Roni on charges of espionage for Iran has once again turned Iran’s intelligence infiltration into a major topic of debate among analysts and the media in the Zionist regime.
On Thursday, the Times of Israel reported the arrest of a young Israeli who, according to the newspaper, had been in contact with an Iranian intelligence agent and had sent him videos from near his home, a bus station, and a shopping center in southern occupied Palestine.
Israeli sources also claim that the Israeli soldier sent a photograph of his military identification card to the Iranian contact and provided information about the base where he was stationed.
This soldier had been serving at one of Israel’s most sensitive military bases in Hatzorim, further deepening concerns among Israelis about the extent of Iranian infiltration.
According to Al-Alam TV, Channel 15 in Israel openly admitted that Iranian intelligence has penetrated some of the most sensitive military bases of the Israeli army—including strategic Israeli Air Force installations.
A Channel 15 correspondent emphasized that the arrested soldier, Rafael Roni, had been serving at the strategic Hatzorim Air Force Base and had been in long-term contact with Iranian operatives, providing them with intelligence.
The reporter added that Roni not only expressed no regret for damaging the security of the regime, but stated that he was willing to do anything in exchange for money.
Channel 15 also quoted several Israeli officials who warned of widespread Iranian infiltration within Israel’s military and security institutions.
According to this Israeli outlet, in recent months around 50 espionage indictments have been issued against Israelis, five of which involved serving soldiers.
