1,000 planes of weapons: The West keeps arming Israel as Gaza death toll rises
The Israeli Ministry of War announced that since the start of the Gaza genocide, the 1,000th aircraft carrying Western military equipment has arrived in the occupied territories, reflecting the level of foreign backing for the regime's occupying army.
According to the ministry, since October 8, 2023, more than 120,000 tons of military cargo have been delivered to the Israeli forces via air operations — a volume that experts describe as unprecedented in the history of the occupation. The latest delivery was received by the ministry’s director-general.
This revelation comes as the United States continues to provide extensive military support to Israel, even while publicly backing a ceasefire in Gaza and seeking to normalize Israel’s relations with other countries in the region.
Meanwhile, Spain has stood out among NATO states after imposing a full arms embargo on Israel through a royal decree in September.
Over the past year, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada have also introduced partial or conditional restrictions on weapons transfers. Despite these measures, Israel’s logistics network remains strong, and according to the Israeli Ministry of War, supplies continue to arrive not only by air but also aboard some 150 cargo ships.
The statement did not specify the exact contents of all shipments, but said the operation is jointly managed by several military and diplomatic bodies of the Israeli regime, including the War Ministry’s logistics department, its missions in the United States and Berlin, the international transport division, and the Israeli Air Force.
