15 Palestinian bodies returned as part of ongoing swap agreement
Al Jazeera reported that the Israeli regime delivered the bodies of 15 Palestinian martyrs today within the framework of a new phase of the body-exchange agreement. According to medical sources in southern Gaza, the bodies arrived at Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis as part of the thirteenth phase of this process.
Local officials in Gaza say that the identification and examination of the bodies take place after they are transferred to medical centers and forensic institutions.
No further details regarding the identities of the martyrs or the circumstances of the transfer have yet been released by official authorities.
Medical sources in Gaza had previously reported signs of torture on the bodies of detainees received from the Israeli regime.
The transfer of Palestinian prisoners’ bodies, as well as the remains of Israeli captives, continues as part of preparations for entering the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
