Challenges facing Lebanon's new president

Lebanon’s newly elected President Joseph Aoun, is set to begin his presidency with the crucial task of conducting mandatory parliamentary consultations to appoint a prime minister-designate, who will then form the new Lebanese government.
With substantial economic and diplomatic hurdles ahead, Aoun’s presidency pledged to usher in a new chapter in Lebanon's history, but his ability to navigate these challenges will depend on cooperation with the newly appointed government.
