Israel hands over bodies of 15 more Palestinian martyrs
According to Sawt al-Quds Radio, the transfer took place under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which includes prisoner exchanges between Israel and Hamas.
The report added that, so far, Israel has returned the bodies of 285 Palestinian martyrs as part of the ceasefire implementation process.
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), along with Hamas personnel, returned to the al-Shuja’iyya neighborhood in Gaza City to recover the remains of Israeli captives killed in Gaza, using heavy machinery supplied by Egypt.
Earlier today, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel had received the body of Itay Khan, the last Israeli-American captive in Gaza, through the Red Cross.
Following identification and confirmation procedures, the Israeli military informed Khan’s family that his identity had been verified.
On Tuesday night, the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had found the body of this captive in the al-Shuja’iyya area, within the so-called “yellow zone” — territory from which Israeli occupation forces withdrew during the first stage of the ceasefire.
