Hebrew media also reported that Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s Minister of National Security, announced on Monday that the former prosecutor had been arrested as part of an investigation into the publication of a video showing Israeli soldiers torturing a Palestinian prisoner at the Sde Teiman detention facility.
The Israeli army had announced on Friday that Tomer-Yerushalmi resigned following the release of the controversial video.
On Sunday, contact with the former official was cut off for several hours, sparking speculation about a possible suicide attempt.
