Araghchi: We are prepared for any scenario / Uranium enrichment will not stop
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to engage in discussions concerning its nuclear program but made clear that Tehran will not halt uranium enrichment under any circumstances.
“We are prepared for any possibility and expect hostile actions from the Zionist regime,” he stated. “Israel could not have attacked Iran without a green light from the United States. Netanyahu is a war criminal, and he has proven that Israel is the true enemy of the region.”
The foreign minister stressed that Iran is open to dialogue aimed at addressing concerns over its nuclear activities, reaffirming that the program is entirely peaceful in nature.
Araghchi added that while a fair and balanced agreement remains achievable, Washington’s current demands are unacceptable.
“We will not negotiate over our missile program,” he said. “No rational person would agree to disarmament. We cannot and will not suspend uranium enrichment — what could not be taken from us through war will not be given through politics.”
He also reiterated that Iran has no interest in direct negotiations with the U.S. and is capable of reaching understandings through indirect channels.
Araghchi further revealed that nuclear materials remain beneath the rubble of bombed nuclear facilities and have not been relocated.
On developments in Syria, he reiterated Iran’s stance: “We support Syria’s independence and territorial integrity and condemn Israel’s aggression against that country.”
