Review of the draft judicial cooperation agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia

Following a series of internal expert sessions and a joint virtual meeting between representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the two sides completed the draft of the Judicial Cooperation Agreement.

This agreement has been formulated with the aim of expanding legal and judicial interactions and facilitating mutual judicial assistance between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, two expert meetings were held by the Commission on International Agreements at the Presidential Office, attended by representatives from the Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice, and the Presidential Office.

During these meetings, the provisions of the proposed agreement were aligned with similar bilateral agreements, and Iran’s technical and legal amendments were incorporated into the text.

Subsequently, a virtual meeting was held between experts from the relevant Iranian institutions and representatives from Saudi Arabia, during which the revised draft was reviewed and mutually approved by both parties.

According to the understanding reached, it was agreed that the next steps toward finalizing and officially signing the Judicial Cooperation Agreement between the two countries will be pursued in the near future.
