Director-General of human rights at Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry: The attack on Evin Prison is condemnable
Inda Nuria Savitri, Director-General of Human Rights and Migration at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Mizan that the recent visit of Indonesia’s human rights delegation to Iran was part of the ninth round of bilateral human rights dialogues between the two countries.
“We discussed and exchanged views on a range of topics of mutual interest during these talks,” she said.
While condemning the Zionist regime’s attack on Evin Prison, Savitri stated: “Regarding this attack, our government condemns all forms of violations of human rights and humanitarian law. We call for an end to all forms of violence.”
She added: “We wish to see peace restored; therefore, we welcome all efforts made by countries—including your own—to ensure the return of normalcy.”
The Indonesian official also expressed appreciation for the measures taken at Evin Prison, saying: “We welcome the services provided in this facility to uphold the basic rights of prisoners. In my view, this represents significant progress toward ensuring the promotion and protection of the fundamental rights of all inmates.”
Savitri expressed hope for the continued cooperation between Iran and Indonesia in the field of human rights, stating: “We can work together to promote and protect human rights for all, and we hope this cooperation will benefit the people of both nations.”
