Activists rally at Paris airport to oppose weapons exports to Israel
The rally, supported by major trade unions including CGT Roissy, FO, and SUD Aérien, highlighted growing concerns over the airport’s logistical role in supplying military equipment used in Israel’s war against Gaza.
According to the Safaa News Agency, protesters demanded an immediate halt to all shipments that, in their words, contribute to Israel’s ongoing offensive operations in Gaza.
Journalists have reported that recent investigations revealed that a French company named Sermat has been supplying dynamo systems and other components used in Israeli military drones.
Although these data-x-items are used in weapons systems, under French export regulations they are not classified as military equipment, allowing them to be shipped without standard export licenses.
Protesters argue that this legal loophole enables the continued export of such goods even as other European countries have suspended their military exports to Israel.
The demonstration at Charles de Gaulle is part of a broader strategy combining legal challenges, union actions, and NGO advocacy to increase pressure on the French government.
Critics warn that France risks violating its international obligations by authorizing the export of arms and dual-use goods that could be employed in what human rights observers describe as a “genocidal war” in Gaza.
