International structures must be reformed
In an interview with Mizan, Dr. Suleiman stated:
“The structure of the United Nations has proven its inefficiency during the two years of the Gaza war. This has been acknowledged by global public opinion. If the UN structure, particularly the veto system, is not reformed, those who blatantly violate international law will continue to act with complete impunity. The UN’s inaction in the face of the genocide in Gaza reflects this bitter truth. Unless this course is corrected, we are heading toward a future without justice, peace, or trust — something that must be avoided.”
The Indonesian scholar added: “We are deeply concerned about the collapse of ethics and humanitarian principles in the field of international relations. Therefore, with the collective will of the world’s nations, the structure of the international system and its organizations must be reformed.”
