The theft of Palestinian martyrs’ organs by Israel
Ismail Al-Thawabteh, Director of the Gaza Government Media Office, told Anadolu Agency on Friday that most of the bodies were delivered in a horrific condition, showing signs of extrajudicial execution and systematic torture.
According to Gaza authorities, some of the bodies had their hands, feet, and eyes bound, with visible marks of strangulation and rope around the neck. Additionally, parts of the bodies, including eyes, corneas, and other organs, were reportedly missing.
Al-Thawabteh described these acts as “a brutal weapon of war and a blatant violation of human rights,” and called on the international community and human rights organizations to immediately establish an international investigation committee to hold Israel accountable for these human rights violations.
Since the start of the recent war in Gaza, Israel has kept the bodies of hundreds of Palestinian martyrs separated from their families.
Many of these bodies have been buried in anonymous locations, leaving families unaware of their loved ones’ final resting places.
Following the October ceasefire, Hamas returned live and deceased Israeli captives, and Israel released some Palestinian prisoners and returned some of the martyrs’ bodies. However, many bodies remain in Israel’s possession.
