Israel begins major obstruction of Gaza agreement
Israel’s Channel 13 television reported that the regime’s political leadership has decided not to open the Rafah crossing tomorrow.
Although the Hamas movement has fulfilled its commitments under the agreement—handing over all live Israeli captives and several bodies—the Israeli regime is using the excuse that Hamas has not delivered the remaining bodies of Israeli captives to justify its refusal to reopen the crossing.
Hamas has stated that the delivery of the remaining bodies has been hindered because Israel’s destruction of large parts of the Gaza Strip has made access to those bodies impossible.
Channel 13 also reported that the Israeli political leadership has decided to significantly reduce humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
According to the network’s sources, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved the recommendations of the regime’s security establishment to reduce aid and keep the Rafah crossing closed.
Meanwhile, Gal Hirsch, Israel’s coordinator for prisoners and missing persons, informed the families of Israeli captives that pressure on Hamas will be intensified to retrieve the bodies of 24 deceased captives.
Hirsch added that the identification process for the four bodies received yesterday has been completed.
