Four dead, 12 injured in Mississippi shooting
According to CBS News, citing local authorities, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in the small town of Leland, Washington County, Mississippi. Leland Mayor John Lee told CBS that four of the injured victims were airlifted to nearby hospitals. No suspects have been arrested so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Gun violence remains a deeply divisive issue in U.S. politics. The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, yet mass shootings and gun-related deaths continue to rise.
The Gun Violence Archive (GVA) reported that more than 42,000 people in the United States died from gun-related incidents in 2023. Meanwhile, the FBI has noted an increase in violent incidents across schools and universities, stating that one in ten criminal or violent events in the country now occurs in educational settings.
