Iranian Foreign Ministry Statement on the Gaza Ceasefire
Recalling the provisions of its earlier statement dated October 5, 2025, on ending the genocide in Gaza, the Ministry reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported any action or initiative that ensures:
- the cessation of the genocidal war,
- the withdrawal of occupying forces,
- the entry of humanitarian aid,
- the release of Palestinian prisoners, and
- the restoration of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
As a supporter of the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian nation in its pursuit of the right to self-determination, Iran stated that over the past two years, it has used all of its diplomatic capacities—particularly within the region, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations—to pressure the Zionist regime and its backers to halt the genocide and withdraw from Gaza.
Honoring the martyrs of the resistance, the Foreign Ministry emphasized the responsibility of the international community to prevent the occupying regime from violating its commitments. It also urged all parties to remain vigilant against the deception and bad faith of the Zionist regime.
The statement further underscored that ending the crimes and genocide in Gaza does not absolve governments and competent international institutions of their legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibilities to pursue justice. This includes identifying and prosecuting the perpetrators and instigators of war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of ending the decades-long impunity enjoyed by the Zionist regime.
