Iran’s representative elected to UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee
In a unanimous decision by the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Iranian diplomat Afsaneh Nadipour has been elected as a member of the Advisory Committee of the UN Human Rights Council.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Afsaneh Nadipour, representing the Islamic Republic of Iran, was officially chosen for the position. Nadipour, a former ambassador to Denmark, is a highly experienced Iranian diplomat.
The UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee consists of 18 independent experts from the UN’s five regional groups and acts as the Council’s main advisory and intellectual body. Candidates are nominated by member states and elected by the Council.
The election took place during the Council’s September session. Elected members serve a three-year term, with the possibility of one renewal, and their term begins on October 1 of the election year.
