Artificial Intelligence turned Gaza into a killing field
According to a Wednesday report by the Shehab News Agency, the Israeli army deployed AI systems capable of analyzing vast amounts of data collected from satellites, aerial surveillance, and intercepted communications to identify bombing targets.
Among the most notable systems used by Israel are “The Gospel” and “Habsora”, which automatically select strike targets within minutes.
By relying on AI to manage its target database, the Israeli military significantly escalated its airstrikes, resulting in an unprecedented number of attacks on civilians.
The army’s algorithms reportedly categorized residential homes and apartment buildings as “suspicious sites,” leading to the bombing of thousands of civilian houses.
AI was also used to analyze communication networks to track Palestinian fighters and their families — a process that effectively erased the distinction between combatants and civilians.
Israeli and Western reports alike indicate that AI has turned warfare into a tool of automated killing, with little to no ethical or legal oversight.
Legal experts warn that Gaza has become a testing ground for future military technologies, where artificial intelligence is being used as an instrument of genocide.
Several human rights organizations have called for urgent investigations into Israel’s use of AI and other advanced technologies in violation of international humanitarian law.
