Attorney General: We are seriously pursuing legal measures domestically and internationally to address damages from the 12-day aggression war
The ceremony honoring the outgoing and introducing the new Attorney General of Gilan Province was held in the presence of Mohammad Movahedi, the country’s Attorney General.
At the beginning of the session, the Attorney General paid tribute to the late Imam of Martyrs and the esteemed martyrs of the law enforcement forces (FARAJA). He highlighted the necessity of preserving and strengthening national unity and cohesion, particularly under the current circumstances.
He stated: “Thanks to God, our Islamic society possesses both spiritual and material elements to achieve this goal. The experience of the Islamic Revolution has shown that the Iranian people responded positively to the call of the late Imam around these spiritual principles and mobilized accordingly.”
He noted that after victory in the defensive war against aggression, some enemies openly admitted that their aim had been to seize Iran’s oil. They had planned attacks for June 2022. Although Iran’s armed, intelligence, and security forces were fully prepared, the enemies carried out surprise operations in certain locations. Nevertheless, the overall attack had been anticipated, and full readiness existed. Despite the martyrdom of 15 senior commanders, within less than 12 hours, the Supreme Commander reorganized the forces and issued the order to commence operations with complete confidence.
Movahedi stressed that the Supreme Leader has repeatedly emphasized that the United States is an untrustworthy and unreliable country. The “Second Step” statement of the Revolution asserts that negotiations with the U.S. yield no benefit and only entail harm—bringing neither material gain nor spiritual achievement. During the resolution of the U.S. hostage crisis at the former embassy (the “Hostage Crisis”), the Algiers Accords between Iran and the U.S. included a written commitment by the U.S. not to act directly or indirectly, politically or militarily, against the Islamic Republic. Yet, the United States has remained the largest supporter of terrorism, creating and backing takfiri groups including ISIS, deploying them against the Resistance Front, and today continues to fully equip and strengthen the Israeli regime.
The Attorney General added that what the enemies of Islam, led by the Israeli regime, have sought through propaganda and psychological operations is merely to display the regime’s hollow power—a regime whose foundation relies entirely on U.S. military and financial support.
He further emphasized: “The truth is that all military equipment used by the Israeli regime is made in the U.S., with costs also provided by that hegemonic power. On October 7, resistance forces entered the occupied territories from two axes, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy and capturing a significant number of prisoners. Even after more than two years, despite utilizing all capabilities and external support, the Israeli regime has been unable to retrieve them.”
Movahedi stated that this reality demonstrates that Israel is a hollow regime that, without U.S. support, would have collapsed within four days even in a limited 12-day war. This is why it turned to the “Great Satan” and the global hegemonic front for support.
Referring again to the judiciary’s actions regarding legal follow-up on the 12-day aggression war, Movahedi declared:
“We are pursuing all necessary legal measures within the country and in international forums with seriousness. God willing, in the legal battle—just as our military, law enforcement, and intelligence forces courageously defended the nation—we will defend the rights of our people. During the war, all sectors—from the president to lower-level employees—were present on the field. The people, too, defended their children over these 12 days and frustrated the enemy. Messages from some negotiating delegations of foreign countries acknowledge that the people of this land demonstrated full support for the Islamic system. The political awareness and vigilance of the nation prevented the enemy from exploiting their presence.”
