Seraj emphasizes pursuing the case of Israeli regime’s crime against Iran domestically and internationally

In an interview, Nasser Seraj, Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary and Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights, explained the process of following up on the Israeli regime’s crime against Iran in both domestic and international arenas.

Referring to the Supreme Leader’s statement that tasked the judiciary with following up on the Israeli regime’s crime against Iran during the 12-day war, Seraj said: “Following the crime committed by the Israeli regime against the Iranian people and nation, we, as the High Council for Human Rights and the International Affairs Deputy of the Judiciary, have the responsibility to pursue the matter.”

The Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights added: “Within this framework, we first held a meeting in Tehran with representatives of the esteemed families of the martyrs. The purpose of these meetings is to listen to the families’ concerns and hear their accounts regarding the circumstances and locations of their loved ones’ martyrdom, so that we can present a report to the Head of the Judiciary.”

Seraj, referring to a second similar meeting held in Isfahan with representatives of martyr families, said: “In this session, we listened to the families’ concerns, statements about the circumstances of their loved ones’ martyrdom, as well as their problems and requests. The discussion also covered how the judiciary plans to pursue the crimes of this brutal regime both domestically and internationally.”

He stated: “We provided explanations regarding the courts and prosecutors’ offices established and the cases filed to address the issue within the country. At the same time, we are making efforts to ensure that the voices of these individuals are heard internationally. We will definitely raise this case in international forums as well.”

Referring to the presence of some martyr families at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Seraj said: “In a recent session held in Switzerland, representatives of three martyr families were present. They explained the circumstances, locations of their loved ones’ martyrdom, and their occupations, emphasizing that these individuals had no connection to military activities. They also provided relevant documents and evidence.”

The Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights added: “UN Special Rapporteurs were truly affected upon seeing these scenes and hearing the testimonies, and they promised to follow up on the matter. Most of these rapporteurs condemned the Israeli regime’s crimes against Iran.”

He emphasized: “Our main responsibility is to convey the oppression faced by the families of the martyrs to the global public, both inside and outside the country.”
